Title: Millefiori bottle - ? Perthshire

The seller calls this item  (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?type=2&campid=5335820906&toolid=10001&customid=&ext=170244949819&item=170244949819) 'Victorian' and says it is English. It looks more like Perthshire style to me.  Any thoughts?

We discussed these a couple of months ago defo Scottish and not Victorian.

Looks like a marriage of a Murano bottom to a Perthshire top.

I've had a few of these and its definately a PP22.  Unusual for the seller, Stewart, who generally knows his stuff.  Ive just mailed him and put him right!

You do find that with most examples of this particular bottle, many of the canes in the base are not what you would expect from Perthshire. These odd canes are big, with large cogs and in garish colours, and they can at first glance be taken to be Murano.  I think I have also seen the odd concentric paperweight that has similar canes. I would guess that this was a phase they went through and made these canes for this bottle and decided it wasnt quite their style!
