hi...this large jug bought in ireland has a big polished pontil............

and a light green hue...........

 it is 15cms tall with a 13cms base diameter...is it likely to be antique?

I don't think anyone can say anything sensible about the colour without handling the piece themselves. But it is certainly after 1860, as the handle is applied bottom first.

thanks ivo.....i wonder if there was any reason for the change in handle application around 1860
