Went and bought all these on the same day, most I think are Dartington, if someone could confirm this, it would be great. I also bought a small heart shaped ashtray, when you look at it from an angle it is green, when you look at it above it is pink, looking from the side there is also some blue for £1 it is the most interesting piece I have bought because it changes with whatever way you look at it. Any comments welcome

I think the first one is Finnish, by Humppilan Lasi. There is another threat of discussion about these pieces and according to Ivo these plates were designed by Kaija Aarikka.
-
The second bowl (the spiky one) is definitely Dartington.
By the way, on a separate note, it's preferable if you post your items in individual threads in future - it's easier to keep track of what's being said and about what ;)
-
The second one is by Anita Harris for Dartington from the Palm range
-
Hi,
Please do you have a clearer image of the third item?
Regards,
Marcus

Marcus, hope this is better, more pictures of glass bought on same day and I also picked up a Kosta snowball for 20p !! Luckiest glass finding day of the year so far.
-
Oops and this one, an Iittala Ultimo Thule large bowl for just £2.
-
so frustrating, I was only looking at the square 1 (1 from top) the other day. Now, you know whats coming next ?
sorry I haven't a clue where, I search through umpteen catalogs and archives everyday.
but, definitely Scandinavian, I think Swedish and its a candle holder,
I couldn't work out how either, but I'm fairly sure thats what it said.

Anita Harris of Poole Pottery and Cobridge fame? Guess thats the Alan White connection doing its thing?
-
The square one holds a tealight, but that's not it's purpose. It's for keeping your teapot warm - it's tea a warmer, hence the phrase tealight. Do a search on the board for tea warmer. It's possibly German
Anita Harris before Poole and Cobridge. In !983 when she won a busary so was presumably starting out

I was also wondering if it was the same Anita Harris - how interesting. She's a member of our 20th Century Art & Pottery board - is she a member here too? If not I could PM her and suggest she joins up.
-
She has her own forum on The Poole Pottery Collectors Club public boards, always answering questions from people and saying hi!
Ill leave her a message about here.

Hi Ian - I was wondering which one of the Poole nuts you were! I've joined up the new Poole site but I've not dipped into the forums yet - I must do so!
-
Anita just replied on the Poole colectors club forum, sehs been on Holiday hence the wait! She says the Dartington one isn't her!

The Iittala bear is designed by Jorma Vennola c.1970s.

I should say, The Anita Harris at Dartington is not the Anita Harris of Poole/Cobridge fame, not that the vase isnt Anita Harris!
-
Hmm, I wonder what happened to the Dartington Anita

Correct. I remember when the "Dartington" Anita Harris was at the RCA and won the Dartington RSA bursary. Martin Hunt who was head of the glass department at the time was very excited because that year (1985 perhaps?) the RCA had managed to get a centrifuge which in those days cost about £2,000 and Anita was the probably the first person to use it successfully. But I have no idea what happened to her subsequently. I have a feeling that a few years ago they sold it (the centrifuge).
