Title: Baccarat Bird Help
Post by: chriscooper on August 29, 2008, 01:26:52 PM
Hello, I picked this item up today and is etched on the base "Baccarat". A little help would be useful please regarding the colour and what bird species it actually is - it looks like a Swallow to me but I cannot find any other examples on the internet which resemble it.

Cheers, Chris

Colour looks like cobalt blue to me and the bird could be a stylised swallow (tail is bit short for reality) or a martin or a swift

No idea, you'll have to do some research on ebay or somewhere

As most but not all the Baccarat animals and birds are made in unlimited quantities there is not a great secondary market. However, they have a wide appeal and are not inexpensive.

I would guess that your bird is at the earliest post 1985 and possibly even more recent.
