Title: claer dark blue gulvvase !0 inches high

Absolute beginner captivated by gulvvases asks - how much should I pay for what appears to be a dark blue gulvvase ten inches tall and what pit falls should I be aware of ?

I'm sure Nic (aka Pinkspoons) will be able to tell you more detail however I can tell you a couple of things - the smaller uncased gulvvases were outsourced by Holmegaard to a British company called Cascade and are generally much cheaper to buy than the opal cased gulvvases which fetch significantly higher prices.

There are lots of modern foreign copies floating around the market - so do your homework - check the size and overall dimensions, look at the shape closely and, if in doubt, don't buy or even better put a link here to the item you're interested in and get the member's opinions before you part with any money.

I have posted the only picture provided.  Not sure it will leave you any the wiser .
It's on ebay and I notice that enquiries about provenance and pontils ( ?  is a little knowledge a dangerous thing )   are met with very vague replies. 
I asked a seller recently how they knew that a jug described as whitefriars was whitefriars and they replied simply " it's in my book "
another gulvvase seller replied " I know who I bounght it from " and ignored my request for  a picture of the base.
