Can anyone identify this one for me please? Nicely made, not too heavy, with a small polished pontil, optic ribbed - the ribs have a slight spiral to the left (anti-clockwise), polished top rim, nice quality. Height: 8" / 200mm Diameter at top: 4" / 100mm Diameter at base: 3" / 75mm Weight: 533g / 18.80 oz.

I have a feeling that it may be by Royal Brierley as I recently saw a marked piece with similar vertical ribbing. Hopefully someone with more knowledge in this area will be able to add more.

Thanks Steven, that gives me a direction to explore. If it helps at all, my dearly beloved has counted the ribs for me and says there are 20 of them. (I counted and as usual got a different result each time I counted! ::)

That's a pretty vase! Looks so light and delicate.

Thanks Kristi, it's not as light and delicate as it looks. When I first saw it I thought as you did, then picked it up and realised it's thicker than it looks from the photos. It does look fab with the light through it though.

Coming back to this to see if I can pin it down to Royal Brierley as Steven suggested?

Guess who ? ::) sorry Anne I don't think this is RB'y it is very similar to their 'art glass' range but as yours has a polished pontil mark and the ones I have and seen are all moulded I'd be very surprised if it turned out to be one :o Here's a couple of mine, ;D ;D

Ta Keith. I don't think I have any other SW/RBS pieces to compare the base with... I do like your pieces.
