Mould-blown bark vase. The pattern appears artificial, as opposed to cast from tree bark as per Sarpaneva or Baxter.
25 cm tall, 12 cm diameter. Weight 1.6 kgs
Ground rim, base has concentric circles.
Pings beautifully.
Scandinavian?

Bump!
Perhaps, Swiss? It was bought in Berne 5+ years ago.
I'm fairly sure it's lead crystal, due to the weight and the clarity of the glass, but it may not be.

This particular shape isn't familiar to me, but there have been some bark type vases done by German and Austrian glashütte in the 60s-70s, perhaps also Swiss ones. I only know a few of them, sadly this is not one of them, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was from those parts.

Thanks. Yeah, I've checked out everything I can find by Hergiswil, Glarner, Oberglas, Ingrid, Georgshütte, Schott, Zwiesel etc, Zlatno and Czechs/Slovaks, and all the Scandis I can think of, but nothing yet.
It's particularly annoying that there's a bothery watchmaker that goes by the name of Glashütte.
[Hey, Anne, can we have a bashing-head-against-wall smiley, too?]

Thought we had one Chris? If not I'll go find you something. Just checked, there are two, :hb1: :hb2: they are in the more smilies popup - click [more] next to the butterfly. 8)

Blimey, I thought *I* was a night bird ;D
Thanks, m'dear. I thought I'd seen one somewhere! [Do you have a patronising smiley, too?]

Never needed one Chris, don't *do* patronising. :24: (posted at a more sensible hour too!) :sun:

Of course you don't, m'dear [but I obviously do!]
