Title: Large turquoise bubble vase - a student piece?

27cm / 11" tall.  Weighs a ton (well, over 2 kgs, anyway)

Was made before 2000, certainly.

Shape is reminiscent of the Whitefriars shoulder vase, but taller and broader, especially at the rim.  Seems to have been made using a 2-part mould that has left vertical lines down the centres of the narrow sides.

Lots of random bubbles.

Rim is rough cut and fire-polished. 
Base has been partially ground down so that the vase sits flat, and the punty has been polished out.

Any suggestions? - polite ones, that is...  :)

It could be recycled glass....that's usually very seedy.  A lot of it comes from Spain, and I don't think this turq colour would be unusual for it.   :)

It doesn't feel like the usual run of recycled glass items that I've seen, since it's much more solid.  Doesn't mean that it isn't though, especially given that Couronne makes some monster pieces, too.

Ta for the link, though, Anne.  Now I know where all those "Daisy Bowls" that I keep seeing come from.
