Title: Rosenthal bottle vase - ? Bjorn Wiinblad 'Romanz' collection.

I've had this Rosenthal bottle vase dating back to the 1950s for some time now and just wondered if this is designed by Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal's Studio-Line Collection 'Romanz' like this one seen here? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=310054140250&Category=138796&_trksid=p3907.m29

I know nothing about Wiinblad except that he designed ceramics and even less about any of his glass designs.  The acid etched design is remarkably similar.

I can only find details of Wiinblad's ceramic 'Romanz' collection, but not glass.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

wiinblad worked for Rosenthal after 1957 - so your vase is probably from the sixties, perhaps even seventies.  The etch mark is for normal production glass, the studio line is marked as such.

Just a brief mention in Style & Design "Bjorn Wiinblad designed the cut and engraved Romanze range (both shape and pattern)..." but unfortunately no images, so for the time being, until any further info comes to light, I'll assume that it is designed by Wiinblad for Rosenthal.

Anne, I have some Bjorn Wiinblad Romanze porcelain but no glass and I can't find any mention in my books or online - I shall keep my eyes open though.

Anne, the link below will take you to a listing on eBay Germany offering some fully labelled and marked Romanze glasses.  The seller has provided some quite good closeups of the pattern - you might want to compare them with your vase.

Identical patterning, but they are marked Studio-Line and have a different Rosenthal mark ;D  Can't make out the yellow label though.  Many thanks Pip :hiclp:  Another mystery solved :clap:
