Title: Czech tango vase
Post by: TxSilver on October 04, 2008, 03:25:14 AM
This is a pretty vase. The Antique Helper site has it listed as Loetz on one of their auctions. I usually trust Ripley's attributions, but I am not sure about this one. The Czech marks on these types of vases -- I've seen 2 or 3 -- differ a good bit. Does anyone know anything about this vase? Thanks!

That is not a mark associated with Loetz.

Your thought is the same as mine, Galle. Most of what I know of Loetz is the glass made before the states merged to form Czechoslovakia. I need to locate a good book that has their last 20-30 years of production. I've looked, but it seems that most authors lost interest in Loetz about 1920. Another mark that is on the bottom of these types of vases is attached from a similar vase I recently bought. It is similar to the one on Antique Helper, but still different.
