Title: Possible Loetz "Global Iridescent Green Vase" ???
Post by: Paul ADK on October 06, 2008, 01:19:04 AM
Pages 202/203 of John Shuman's Art Glass Identification and Price Guide shows a near identical (as to size, shape and color) vase from Cincinnati Art Galleries that is identified as Loetz.  The surface treatment is not the same on the unsigned vase I purchased, but in all other respects it seems to be a very close match.  Any thoughts on the subject will be greatly appreciated.

Clicking on the photos will enlarge them.

Since no one has answered this, I thought I would comment. Your vase does look like it is Bohemian, but I have a difficult time telling between the vases of this design that were made by Loetz, Kralik, Rindskopf, and other Bavarian glassmakers. I know the difficulty you are having. The color and texture reminds me of Loetz bronce glatt. There are a couple of examples of vases at http://hometown.aol.com/dlfd911/myhomepage/loetzcollectionp3.html. I don't know if bronce glatt is exclusive to Loetz -- probably not, since Kralik and Rindskopf often produced similar things (or maybe they all worked together??)
