Title: Info on Stuart please
Post by: tysh on October 06, 2008, 01:52:00 PM
Can anyone please point me to where I can find information on a small amber stem glass that is etched Stuart RD. 681615?  I get a 1930's feeling about it??
Many thanks
Tysh

The design was registered on 10 March 1921, see here (http://www.great-glass.co.uk/glass%20notes/regnos08.htm)

Many thanks for that. I wasn't far out with my 1930s guess then.
Much appreciated

Careful.   That early '20s series of Stuart registrations are almost all for variations on their ring-moulded house style, and only refer to that element of the design.   They were certainly used well beyond the expiry of any protection provided by the registration, and I think that they were still being used postwar.   Therefore only useful for "not before" dates.
