Title: More Help Please! Strathearn? - ID: Paul Ysart
Post by: tzenka on October 07, 2008, 07:24:34 PM
I bought this Harlequin paperweight from an antique shop. I am pretty sure it's Scottish, but can't decide on the maker... No signature canes etc. Flat polished base, a bit of sparkly stuff inside... Thanks to Frank I learned that my other "mystery" paperweight was Strathearn; I am wondering if this one is S. as well?

It's from Paul Ysart's Harland studio, 1970s. Many made, but all different, could have been by Paul himself or by one of his assistants. The "sparkly stuff" is gold aventurine.

Thanks a lot KevH. I was secretly hoping it would be an Ysart... lucky me!
