Title: the best PY i've seen
Post by: RAY on October 08, 2008, 05:40:22 PM
well i got this one today with another PY and that's another story , it's the best one I've seen, there's nothing out of place even the the latticino goes perfect in to the center of the button pontil mark, it measures 3.25" across and 2.5" high

Wow, this is gorgeous! Where did you find it? I live in a place (Victoria BC, Canada) where there are practically no paperweights of significance. The few antique shops here have a handful of recent (and outright ugly) Murano which they sell for $200 and up! Finding paperweights on eBay is effective, but not much fun...

Ray, that's a really good example. From the way the base is finished I don't thik it's from the Caithness years. How does it react under UV?

hi Kev, to my eyes , it looks like  a red/green or could be orange colour under UV

Ok - sounds like it's 70s. Nice to get one from that period that is 3 inch or bigger.
