Title: Bimini *style* decanter
Post by: Max on October 10, 2008, 03:52:08 PM
Super light decanter with a little glass, drunk devil inside the globe - check out his winky (how rude!) and bottle!  I can only think of Bimini that did this kind of thing, but the subject matter seems a bit crude for Bimini perhaps?  What does anyone else think?   :)

Now there's a classy piece!   Love the tiny bottle he's holding.  So lifelike ;) - he's even got balls!  Not sure I've heard of devils with duck beaks, though.  Maybe that's why this one looks so benign.

Good place to put your firewater!

 >:D ;D >:D ;D

probably Ernst & Peter Müller-Marks from Lauscha. I have 2 decanters (one of which has a devil inside, the other a lion) with stickers.

Duck beak  ;D, it's his beard and long nose!

A beard, eh?  Ya know, I bet it's not a devil at all, it's Pan!  He's too busy drinking to play his flute.

I don't know if it's a beak or mouth ;D it's just a strange jutty-out shape below his nose.  It's a bit peculiar, but seems to suit him.  :thup:

Might be Pan...he's quite horny.   ::) :o

Thanks Ivo and Dirk, I've got another couple of pieces from Lauscha but this is so different I didn't make the connection.  Thank you Ivo for the probably designer, I'll make a note of it now.  xx

Oh...when I bought this, the salesperson said 'What will you be washing this with?', I said 'I'm not planning on washing it', she said 'if it was mine, I'd just stick it in the dish-washer, they're marvellous these days'....

Riiiiiiiiiiiiigght!

Thanks for showing them Ivo, I wanted to see your two decanters, but didn't like to ask!  :-*  Not certain mine is the same maker as yours ...the neck and stopper of my decanter has some applied irridesence and yours are rather classy, what do you think?

I found this though: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380038843857  - definitely the same as mine...but not Bimini.

I just waited until daylight to take the pictures...
I would think this type of decanter is Lauscha, there are at least half a dozen glass makers there who master the art of blowing bubbles with thingies inside.  ;D ;D

It reminds me a bit of this one which I posted recently

I wonder if mine might be Lauscha too?
