Title: Blue Italian Decanter - Pressed?

Hi got this.  Do not know if worthy, but I just liked it.  Thought it looked a bit older, maybe the 70's?  Is it pressed glass?  Is the age (maybe) right?  I imagine these were made a dime, a dozen...and quite a few out there...

It's blown.  It would have been impossible, I believe, to get shape like that if it were pressed, unless it was made in parts.  There has to be a place for the plunger to retract.  Sometimes bottles, cruets, etc. with narrow necks were pressed from the bottom and after the plunger was retracted the bottom was "cut shut," meaning sheared and pinched closed.  This type of closure is sometimes mistaken for a pontil.  In this case, though, the bottom is molded, so that's not an option. 

Often you can tell whether something's pressed or mold blown by feeling or looking at the inside.  If there are indentations on the inside corresponding to high points on the outside (and it looks like there are), it's mold blown.  Could have been done by machine.
