Hi, I am not sure if this is anything at all.....or if it is something. Maybe to hold 3 inch candles. Just though I would ask. If nothing, no problem....but it is quite heavy. TIA

that's a rose vase with its grill missing, also known in some countries as a "biedermeier" - a vase for a flower arrangement on a low table. Yours was probably made by US Glass around 1915-1925 - but could be one of the Canadian glassworks too.

Could also be a sugar bowl, I have something very similar with a chrome plated lid incorporating scissor action tongs.

What size is it, just it's actually quite similar to an Avon jar I saw recently!

Hi -
It is about 3.5 inches high, 4 inches wide (@widest), and with a opening of about 2.5 inches. Very solid piece of glass, for the size of it.
The bottom does seem to have quite a bit of wear, not sure if that shows up in my photos...and I looked around on it, and I see no Avon mark. Doesn't Avon mark all there things quite well? I do not think I have seen an item by Avon that is not marked. Any older Avon stuff I have here (60's & 70's) is marked well. Avon, (to me), always seemed to make sure all there stuff was marked.
So not sure if these measurements help any (?) Hope so.
TIA

Hi there Lustrousstone: :hiclp:
I think that is it by the shape. I wondered if there was something to go on top. I think the design of mine (glass cuts) may be a bit different than that one, but I think this is what it is.
So mine could be around that age....Maybe? Thanks...Bravo.
