Title: vase - yellow and amethyst
Post by: inca on October 22, 2008, 12:19:16 AM
This is a vase from .....???

Now this is just for fun.... care to guess which glassworks made this vase?

The vase is approx. 35cm.

I know the answer, do you?  ;D

I can add that the glassworks was founded in 1919.

No comments about my vase?    OK, then I will just let you know the details:

The vase was made by Glimma glasbruk (glassworks) in Glimåkra, Sweden.

Glimma glasbruk 1919 - 1969

It is designed by Marcolin, mid 1950's.

Please note that there is no Glimåkra glasbruk, I have seen this mentioned
elsewhere but that is not correct. It is Glimma glasbruk in Glimåkra.

I am adding another picture for you. It is the Glimma vase again now together
with a fox from FM Konstglas/Marcolin, Ronneby.

I was going to suggest Glimma - but that's only because I've a link to a big list of Swedish glasshouses organised by year of opening, and I thought that might be cheating.  ;D

Well, it would have been a toss-up between Glimma and Ruda (the list also gives Torsås, but past searches seem to show that this started in 1916 rather than 1919).
