Title: Possibly Murano Paperweight
Post by: Leni on September 01, 2005, 08:15:53 PM
I posted this weight on the Paperweight forum and there is some thought (thanks Kevin  :D ) that it may be Murano.

Those of you who have come across my posts before will know that I am never satisfied with general descriptions, and always want to know *exactly* who, when and where?     So I am posting it here in case anyone is able to tell me by which Murano glasshouse - if indeed it is Murano and not Czech! - it might have been made.

Here's the pics: http://tinypic.com/bgzpk6.jpg  http://tinypic.com/bgzpmu.jpg  http://tinypic.com/bgzpsg.jpg

I have already emailed Leni, but in case anyone else was reading the thread and is interested - the paperweight is definitely a Murano weight and was made by the Ferro & Lazzarini glassworks.  It is a very old traditional design which they made for many years.

Ferro & Lazzarini are now Eugenio Ferro.  They have carried on making very similar designs, but their version of them.
