Title: Knop, prunt, ear, tooth ... ??? Just what is the right name?
Post by: RoynMargaret on October 27, 2008, 05:38:02 PM
Every now and again we have a blind spot or a senior moment :)

Please, what is the correct descriptive term for the sawtooth design features on this blue vase?

Also any idea of maker/country, etc, please. I do not think it is very old. The base rim has been polished flat.

Hope everyone is well.

This looks very much like a Sklo Union piece to me, but I'm sure Marcus will be able to confirm for you when he surfaces.

Hi Roy :-)

It's definitely a piece of Sklo Union (Czech) glass and I've described these in the past as being pineapple vases but I don't think that's the proper description!

As a cut glass motif I think it would be called diamond.
