 What a fascinating weight, Ray!

The 'button' of canes does appear to be quite small, and the pushed-in sides and top do nothing to enlarge it - which I thought was the usual purpose of the lens effect of a round weight! - but rather the reverse, as you say :?

I have never seen another weight like it!  Do you think it might have been a 'sort-of experimental' design?

I have emailed Jackie Lindsay of Corner House Gallery, who specialises in Murano paperweights, to ask her if she can help identify your weight - and mine - Ray!  Her website is http://www.muranopaperweights.co.uk

I also directed Jackie to this board, where I am certain her expertise would be most appreciated, should she be kind enough to contribute!  :D
