Title: Two jugs - one blue, one green
Post by: chloe on October 28, 2008, 09:41:52 PM
Trying to groups a few things into fewer posts so as not to annoy anyone!

So, two jugs.

First one is a kingfisher type blue, and polished pontil.
Second one has a bright green tint and optic design.

As always, any advice is much appreciated

They are better for us in separate posts Chloe, so we can allocate to the right resolved place once id'd. If one is, e.g. German and one English it makes it harder to do if they are all in the one topic.

Jugs are always a pain to identify. The first may be either Italian or Polish (Krosno). The second looks to be uranium glass and perhaps Austrian or Czech. The only bit I have the vaguest confidence in is the uranium. Neither are likely to be of much value

Thanks (and sorry Anne, I just didnt want to hog too much space!).  The top one is actually quite lovely in the 'flesh', I just cant seem to make it look any less hideous in photos than that.  It does have the feel of another piece ID'd as possibly Polish so I'll check along those lines.

I thought the second was uranium but I still dont actually have a black light  ::) to test for sure

Just to say I think I've id'd the fist one as Bjorkshult (Swedish) - as I've picked up a very similar one in amethyst today, with matching glasses, all of which have their stickers on!
