6" (15 cm) vase, flat oval, decorated on both sides, snapped off pontil mark, iridescence - this one was no coincidence. There is no signature. I think it might be the work of Robert Held in Vancouver. Does anyone concur?

Looks like a perfume bottle without its stopper.
Can we see the base

Thanks Mike!
Here is the pontil mark - small, neatly sheared off and not treated.
As for perfume, the item is far too large - it holds 75 ml same as a bottle of good wine. The neck is too wide for a stopper, too.

could it be an early isle of wight?

I saw a jardiniere in the same colour/pattern today in a contemporary gallery nearby and have been racking my memory trying to remember the name of the maker on the ticket. Other items in the gallery included work by Teign Valley Glass, Stuart Akroyd, Sly Glass, Svaja Glass, LSA, Rosenthal/Versace, Orrefors and Kosta Boda but I'm not sure which (if any) it might have been.

Gozo glass perhaps? The shape reminds me of Maltese glass.

I thought one of the Maltese as well at first, but I think most Maltese items are clear cased, quite heavy with a polished bottom? This one is not cased, relatively light and highly iridescent...
