I thought I had found a Monart vase for five pounds on Doncaster market, 20 years ago, but it is not is it? The base is all wrong. So what is it? Any ideas?

Hi Ruth,
Can you do another shot of the base, reflecting a light background would be better.
It looks like it is OK, either shape DD or RC. But a better base shot is needed to be sure.

I tried Frank but the light is dull here at the moment.
If this is Monart then why is the base this way rather than the usual polished disc where the label was put?

Because it has an applied foot. What you need to do is photograph it at about 25 degrees above the horizontal with light reflecting on the flat edge.

I tried hard with the pic!
I can so see that foot is applied now, it's barn door.

Hi Peter,
I think that Frank may have to do that! Also in my opinion it is shape DD! Thanks to Franks catalogue.
