Title: Thin Walled Celery Glass Footed Vase Curious?
Post by: wesley on November 15, 2008, 02:33:09 PM
Hello,

I bought a while ago this 7 inch peach coloured delicate footed vase with what look like tear design on the lower part. The glass has a very thin walled upper and is hand blown and here is some light wear to the foot. Unusually has the etch word celery on the side. I read in another post that the word celery was etched on some Murano glass, post war to avoid paying tax.

Could anyone shed any more light to a possible maker and confirm an origin?

Kind regards,

Wes

I know CELERY is seen on British glass, I don't know about it being on Murano glass though.
