Title: Does anyone recognize this green jade glass pestle and mortar?
Post by: BONYTONY on November 15, 2008, 06:56:45 PM
Hi
Does anyone recognize the manufacturer of this green jade glass pestle and mortar?
Its about the size of a tennis ball with a smooth polished base and rounded off top. The pestle is rather delicate. The mortar chunky and heavy with slight scratches to the base.
The glass has a slimy feel to it and is translucent not unlike jade. There is a discreet indented line running just beneath the top rim.
Many thanks.
Tony

Looks like a Vincenzo Nason ashtray with stubber. If it is there will be no UV reaction.

Thanks Ivo. Must get another UV to test it- meanwhile I'll keep my eye out for any other pieces of green Vincenzo Nasson for comparison and any further info of course is welcome. Cheers. Tony.
