Title: Help with foil label on Italian blue glasses
Post by: momma on November 27, 2008, 10:32:06 AM
I have 4 of these glasses ~ 3 have foil labels. "Handmade in Italy", the logo looks like a woman seated in a chair.
The glasses are approx. 13cm tall ~ I just thought they were a bit different. The "wicker work" is plastic.
I have searched numerous sites for foil labels etc but haven't found anything similar.

I like them - they're quite kitsch with the plastic additions :-)  Sadly I can't offer any info on them, never seen any before.  Have you looked in the labels galleries on this board to see if anyone's posted a similar one?

Hi Pip & Anne, I did check the labels gallery before posting this question.

As an aside, I had a leaf shaped, controlled bubble bowl/dish with a rectangular foil sticker ~ except for the shape it is identical to the "MURANO AS" label on the "Duck Figural wine bottle -- *DRIOLI LABEL* NOTE: (One of three labels on this bottle)"

Mine also had Made in Italy on the lower edge of the rectangle. I have photos on file if they are of any use.

To me, the sticker looks more like it's referring to the weave-work than the glass, so that's probably why it's not in our gallery.  :)
