This feels of some age to me - maybe circa 1900? Pontil mark to mase and fluted top. Measures 8 inches high.
Can anyone help please - firstly is it actually a vase? ideas on age and maker? why is it *so* orange (almost luminous)?
Many thanks

It's a vase. It also looks like it might be a heat-reactive glass - amber that reacts to reddish orange. The sort used for amberina and Dartington Flame

Many thanks Christine. There are slight amber tints at the end of the rim, which I guess would tie in. Does if offer any more hints as to its origin?
Edit: Most of the amberina pieces I'm seeing are American in origin? I know nothing of American glass - does it look of that style? Also I spotted a similar flourescent orange piece which was from the 1960s - but this is older than that, yes?
