Title: Murano with a head profile?
Post by: tropdevin on December 29, 2008, 09:13:41 AM
This paperweight (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=2&campid=5335820906&toolid=10001&customid=&ext=260338843236&item=260338843236) appears to have Murano canes, a central head silhouette of poor quality (maybe a tree?), and a label 'Bolighus' which I have never heard off.  Is it Murano, or what?

Murano, the label is a danish furniture/interior design store.

Hi Alexander

Thanks - if the label had said 'IKEA' I'd have known the answer!

I think the central cane is a picture of a FISH rather than a head silhouette.

That's a Seguso paperweight. And that is indeed a fish. I've seen butterfly and flower canes made similarly by them.
