Title: Serious optimism?
Post by: tropdevin on December 29, 2008, 10:39:58 AM
.
The seller of this Strathearn (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=2&campid=5335820906&toolid=10001&customid=&ext=310106465702&item=310106465702) has several seriously overpriced weights.  I wonder whether he is an optimist or hoping to snag the unwary...

I don't see the 'ruffle'. I went on the assumption that the wrong photo was put up with the auction and informed him of it. Gives him an out without feeling stupid.

Well I asked if they would like to buy some of my Strathearn weights and they said no, they where just selling their collection.  If so, why do they have a shop which is an antiques centre?????

Mod: edited slightly in line with board guidelines  :)

Almost all the pieces they have for sale are well overpriced. They have 2 vases which they describe as Whitefriars baxter pieces £250 each they are infact Joeseph hospodka czech glass worth £25 each which they have been told but wont listen. They just say they have been told by an expert they are whitefriars  ;D
So if youmention about the weights they wont listen

You can report items which are misdescribed using the report this item link at the bottom, Ive had pieces of Poole ended by ebay before when they have been listed deliberately wrongly......

My personal collection is mid to late 1960's, but I do have pieces ranging from 1926 through to present day.  Do you have some?
