Please can anyone help me with identification this plate? About 30 cm diameter, on the back side with a plastic ribbing, and not quite smooth. Probably it´s some piece od Bohemian press-glass from sixties, but I´m not sure. Thank you for your kindness.

Interesting! Looks cut to me. Quite beautiful.
Another new member from Prague! Welcome!

Thanks, nice greetings to Minnesota :) Yes, it looks like cut, but I really mean that it is pressed.

This looks like a piece of Sklo Union pressed glass to me - and given your location it's pretty likely. We need Marcus to take a look at this really - I've looked through his book (Sklo Union, Art Before Industry) but couldn't find that exact design but it is reminiscent of some of Peceny's 1960s woodgrain designs....

Yes, I know Marcus, his book and one of his friends, too ;) I´m looking for his (or any other collector´s) help. :D

Kristi,
I wrote already once that our Czech world is really small :-)
A lot of pieces from Marcus's collection originaly found Evusa in antik-shops in Prague....
We need Marcus, but he is somewhere in the middle of France celebrating Christmas, New Year or what else I do not know...

Hi Evusa
Marcus is extremely busy at the moment working on new projects but I spoke to him about your plate and he said it's probably late (1998-2006) by Rony Plesl for Sahm (Czech Republic).

Rony Plesl:

Sahm:

unfortunately not found at either Plesl nor Sahm site...
next hint?

I assumed these were much later, being stylistically like some of Rony's work.
So Sklo Union, pattern number 20444/310, for Hermanova hut', lis bez kroutku, (ring-less pressing) 1987, and designed by Miloslav Kubinec. Also made after privatisation, when SHH supplied Sahm Gastro shops.
Documented in Glass Review, 1990, issue 9, page 18.

Many thanks, Marcus :-)
