Hi
Here are four Art Deco Bowls #2 has British Made on the base the others have naught
Help in identifying the makers - appreciated:-)
-
No 2 is a Bagley "Bristol" bowl: pattern number 3145 and part of a flower set. It probably came with a frog and a plinth or in a metal frame. It was made from 1946 to 1975. Info Bagley Glass, Bowey and Parsons.
Nos 1 and 4 are Sowerby (of Gateshead) 2631 - I think, could be wrong about No 1. Boat, and fruit bowl from the fruit set respectively. Could we have a side view of No 1. Info Sowerby CD2 Thistlewood
No 3 is German and Walther Orient, info http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/schalen/00303.html

Thanks Lustrousstone
That was terrific - your knowlege is formitable. I will try to put up a side veiw of one this evening. Any idea of age of the Sowerby or Walther or how I could find more info?
I went to the site for the Walther but there were no dates.

to my knowledge Walther ORIENT first appeared in 1935 and was surely produced still during the Sixties by VEB Sachsenglas, hope this helps

You'll find the Sowerby bowls (2631 is correct) on Glen's Sowerby Glass CD volume 2 - see this topic for details: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,19148.0.html

I just wasn't 100% sure that the boat dish was Sowerby from the angle of the photo; I knew the bowl was correct
-
Yup it is Christine, I've got at least three of these boats in the top cupboard. ;)
-
The 2631 boat (top) appears to have been spun out much more than I have seen before. Also the bowl sometimes comes flanged out.
