I had this in a box (I think I picked it up several years ago) & forgot I had it until I reorganized. Only the perfume is faintly marked Czech...rest of set had ground bottoms, edges, etc. Looks like a period deco design, but wanted to make sure I'm correct that its probably 30's. Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken, Is the pattern on the perfume the same as the other pieces? It's hard to make out from the photo. If it doesn't have the same pattern and it's the only marked piece it may be part of a different set or a standalone perfume added to the set.
Whatever it is, it's beautiful and I don't recognise it but I'm searching all my catalogues and reference images to see if I can find a match.

Thanks Anne for looking. The perfume although the same color (perfect match) does appear to be different (the pattern) & I was wondering myself if it was added. Probably was. The wheel cut decoration on all the other pieces is the same, but even though it appears to be deco style I didn't know & was asking for opinions whether it was 30's or maybe even 50's which would probably put it outside the traditional deco period. Another one to move to Glass Trinket Sets mods. :)
-
Jayne, I have raised this point in the Mod Central forum. There are many older threads that cover "vanity" or "dresser" items and I am not sure whether all of them ought to be moved, or not.
-
Ok thanks Kevin, you are correct there are several more threads which is why I stopped at 3. I personally feel vanity set, dresser set, trinket set, dressing table set, boudoir set all cover the same items, and it may be helpful when using the search facility to have them in one place, so that if choosing to search only one forum section for the particular word it's more likely to be found in the results. Just my two penneth. :)

Decision made.
The ones you have highlighted, Jayne, will be moved now and I will set a task for myself to locate and move others.

Excellent Kevin! Thank-you very much. :)
Ken and Anne, as you say the perfume is likely not a match to the rest of the set. It's a lovely set, not one I recognise either, although I have a vague memory of seeing a clock somewhere recently with a similar circular pattern on it. Hopefully I will come across it again, and will post my findings. :)
