Title: Thoughts how this was made ?

It looks like three holes were cut into the sides, and then it was cased in clear, but I don't think this would work - any thoughts ?

Yes, but I reckon it'd flow in through the holes, or be unstable if heated up and cased in hot glass - but then I've never tried it so am only guessing - Adam ?

The unevenness of the holes is the clue, it is a bit like 'graal' formed and decorated blank, cool, cut away panels, reheat, case in clear. Blow to final size.

possibly made by Joska? they´ve got a lot of similar designs and these
things are flooding ebay here - many sellers trying to sell them as
´murano´...  ::)

Dave Fetty, our master glass artisan at Fenton Art Glass in West Virginia USA, has made similar pieces since his experience here with Robert Barber in the mid-1970s. We call them "window" vases, and I see that this eBay seller uses the German word "Fenster" in the description (my knowledge of German is 40+ years old, so don't ask me to translate the whole thing!).

I've watched Dave make these window vases quite often and would be glad to offer a step-by-step explanation if there is interest in such.

Yes please! :) I was rather hoping someone would explain, because while I think I know how one would go about making something like this, I'd just be guessing! ;D
