Title: Clear Glass cut jug.
Post by: stevetheb on January 24, 2009, 03:45:40 PM
I was just sorting out my glass (I have far too much!) and I have a few items that I bought for a few pennies, with the 9intention of using them - but I have no idea who they're made by , or even if they are identifiable? Number 1 in my list of UGIs is this glass jug.

It averages out at about 26 cms tall.  A nice cut design... 3 Photos attached.

Any hints where to look for a maker? Age? etc.

My 2c worth - nice shape, hand made, but a quite perfunctory decoration. Timewise circa fifties (give or take a few) and perfect for daily use - if you don't mind hand washing it. Maker could be anyone working around that time - including Leerdam, Weisswasser, Zwiesel - and I'm sure someone will chime in with British manufacturers.

Thanks Ivo..  99p for  a hand made glass jug or 99p for a plastic one from "Poundsaver"? I know which I prefer.

I don't have a dishwasher (Refrains from male chauvinist jokes!) - so I was everything by hand anyway.

Looks nice on the table..
