I was just sorting out my glass (I have far too much!) and I have a few items that I bought for a few pennies, with the intention of using them - but I have no idea who they're made by , or even if they are identifiable? Number 2 in my list of UGIs is this rather pretty bowl.
Any ideas or hints as to where to look for a maker?
Adds dimensions at 22 cms across the rim and 8 cms high.

It helps if you add size - but at first sight it is a nice piece, optically blown, hand made with a polished pontil mark.

Possibly Webb wrythen range? Chris Harrison has one here in GlassGallery:

My thought as well Anne.

Thanks Anne and all for the id.. now it seems a shame to use it!

At 22cm it'll probably be the server bowl for a fruit set Steve. Keep your eyes peeled and you may manage to pick up smaller bowls to make up a set with it. Great for trifle or fresh fruit salad. ;)

Going off topic... Whilst we lived in Cornwall, my favourite Grandmother was a midwife on Portland in Dorset, whenever she came to visit she would bring me a trifle she'd made in a green glass trifle bowl. As a very keen trifle lover, from a very early age, I'd always looked forward to Grans visits!
When Gran died, a few years back now, My Mum phoned me and asked if there was anything of Grans I really wanted? She asked the same of my twin brother and my two cousins.
I split my list in two and in one half asked "Things I'd like if nobody else wants them" and asked for two or three things that remined my of Gran that I would of liked... in the other half of the list "I'll kill to ensure I get this"... I listed Grans green glass trifle bowl.
I got the bowl and whenever I use it (Which is often!) it always reminds me of Gran and of Portland.
Me and my twin (he's a chef) were discussing how much alcohol you could use in a trifle. I won the unoffical contest by managing to use a whole bottle of sherry - mainly by using the sherry to make up the jelly instead of water.......
Gosh - memories eh?
