Title: Pair pressed vases

Hello again, I found this pair of rather ornate pressed vases today.The lady in the shop was certain they were Victorian. They remind me of Chippendale glass at the top but are more patterned. Any info would be helpful as I like to know what I've got on the shelf!! They are 8 inches tall and quite heavy.Also there is a Regd No.734887 on the bottom. Thankyou Cheryl.

Cheryl — The "blue book" gives that registration as by International Bottle Co. Ltd. on 26 January 1928.   I believe that they were factors, taking a requirement, designing it if necessary, putting it out to tender, and obtaining its manufacture.   Most likely a British client, but it could have been made anywhere in Europe, including Britain.

Look for Continental 7s with the crossbar, a positive indicator of a mainland European mouldmaker.

HI, I thought they were more 1930s or there abouts. The No 7 in the reg no. is a normal English one. Just goes to show we can't always rely on what sellers tell us. Cheryl.
