:D:D:D
Finally, I've taken pictures of my TKMaxx large cheap vases that I use as wastepaperbins! The pink handkerchief and the blue bubbly are Tarnoweic and the clear one with coloured splodges is Mexican.

Wow! Sue! I love those!
I especially like the bubbly one. Does it come in different colours?
I searched and searched for a waste bin for my newly-decorated dining room and conservatory and could only find cheap plastic or expensive poncey leather  :x
I must get to a branch of TKMaxx :D I'll even risk the cats tipping it over!

Now that's classy!
I agree with Leni, it's a fantastic idea! I shall pop into my local T K Maxx when I next pass, and buy some too. Cheers!

I've had these for quite a while, I've seen less and less Tarnoweic and Beranek in TKMaxx recently. I think the Mexican stuff still turns up. TKMaxx is almost like anywhere that sells second-hand stuff - you just never know what you're going to find. I haven't seen another bubbly one at all, and that was the only one when I was there. At £8-£12 each, it doesn't matter too much if it gets broken, apart from replacing it and for clearing up the mess. (Although that's not showing much respect for the glassmaker or their work :oops::oops: ) I have found them to be quite robust.

WOW, they are very nice. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us. I am sooo jealous! They did not have that kind of 'fancy' vases about year and a half ago when I was last there. I don't think they will open a shop anytime soon in Tenerife...
If the vases are heavy enough, I don't think the cats will harm them. At least mine haven't been able to drop anything from the shelves and tables so far. knock, knock (on wood)
TMaritta
P.S. TKMaxx is not selling second hand merchandise? They just buy factory rests, discontinued items, last years' fashion, etc., don't they.

Yes, tmaritta, it's ends of lines, last seasons leftover fashions, some seconds etc. It's not second hand stuff, just that it's "pot-luck" what you can find. There's real top quality stuff and total junk! :D:D:D

Very interesting Sue, I think they are lovely but as wastebins eeeeeeeeek! Anyway what is interesting is that here in America its called TJMaxx and Tarnoweic has just turned up along with Krosno. The Chinese stuff has all but disappeared. The Murano they have is mostly serving platters and some of the poorest stuff I have ever seen.

Hi Terry, your pictures have disappeared from Photobucket - do you still have copies please? If so, could they be uploaded to GlassGallery so this thread is complete again? Many thanks. :)

Here is the Tarnowiec.

And here is the Krosnos

This one is interesting because it is dual purpose, one way up its a vase and the other its a candleholder. Terry

Super, thanks for posting the photos again Terry. :)
