Title: Unusual Vasart / Monart piece

The seller of this item (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=2&campid=5335820906&toolid=10001&customid=&ext=200308032153&item=200308032153) calls it a pin dish, but it does not look like the usual style of Vasart pin dish.  It looks more like a cane set-up that was never finished as a dish or weight.  Has anyone seen similar pieces?

Yes a couple of weeks back there was a Whitefriars one on ebay it had been set up but not had the dome put on .

But this one does look finished, maybe a trial piece?

I have seen and handled this item. I don't think its an unfinished "button". It has the actual shape of a dish, and the canes seemed correct for vasart in my humble opinion. Its certainly unusual. By the way its not mine!
