Title: Daisy and Greek Key patterned plate
Post by: Anne E.B. on February 26, 2009, 04:53:15 PM
Any ideas what this could be would be much appreciated ;)

The pattern looks a little like a jug seen and made by Gerbruder von Streit, but also like Davidson's 'Daisy' suite (and probably a zillion others too ::)
TIA :)

Could it be Berlin by Streit?  Pamela has one like it on her site that is round.

Daisy and Greek Key has been made by many works, including Von Streit, Leerdam, Hoffmann, Davidson and others - so it will be quite difficult to pinpoint the producer of this particular item.

Thank you Janice and Ivo :)

I've just checked Pamela's plate and it does look similar.

Some of von Streit's daisy and Greek Key pieces seem to have a mark on one of the daisies, usually in the centre.  Does anyone know what this is?  I can't make it out from images on the web, and would also like to know if they marked all similar patterned pieces in this way or just some, and if so which?  Not asking a lot am I :ac1: :fwr:

The "Rittermarke" of Von Streit is a picture of a helmeted knight. I know they used it in daisies - but you really need Pamela for a complete answer to this question.

Ooh, no help at all, but I love that!  If you decide to move it along ever, then give me a shout  ;) ;D
