Title: Identification please
Post by: khan31cat on March 01, 2009, 01:35:42 PM
We bought this piece of glass at an antiques centre not long ago.  Can anybody tell us what we've got.

Height 7 3/4 inches with an amethyst streak.  Thanks very much

Hi, Is it round? oval? any marks at all on the bottom , sides anywhere? Looks like it {might} be kosta's work,  something Vicky does with Amethyst for them back in the 50's. But it hard to tell from your pic, others will know much more, good luck.

A photo or description of the base and top rim would be handy Terry & Peggy.  :)

PS: John, is the vase you're thinking of called 'kontur'?

Hi Max

The base is flat with a ground pontil.

The top is not ground but hand finished.
