Title: Bubble-Stemmed Snapse Glasses
Post by: Pinkspoons on March 12, 2009, 03:43:49 PM
Had these wee glasses a while, and have never been able to find out who made them.

70mm tall, fire-polished rim, applied foot. The quality seems to be very good, and a nice feature is that the encased bubble pushes up into the bowl of the glass, creating a 'blister' within it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm probably way out, but they remind me of some Dartington glasses I had some time ago, but without the bubbles.

No, I can definitely see some commonalities with Frank Thrower's aesthetic... but I'm woefully lacking solid Dartington/Wedgwood reference material to confidently yea- or nay-say it.

Edit:

Are these your similar glasses? http://www.whitefriarsorg.org/memb1/dart/from72cat8.jpg

Ooh, thanks Christine. I've put it on my watchlist, and I'll see if I can find the spare pennies for it.

Mine helped me find an amber FT2 vase and more than paid for itself!

I ordered the book myself and it arrived today!  Spent more time than I should poring over it, however I didn't manage to find your glass in it. :(
