Title: Cranberry-Coloured Vase, c.1903.
Post by: Pinkspoons on March 13, 2009, 03:26:44 PM
The other-half's parents just emailed me photographs of a silver-mounted cranberry-coloured vase with pushed-in sides, dated (I'm told) for 1903.

I've not handled it myself, but the glass quality looks quite ho-hum. Seems to be cased in clear, and I can't quite make out the base's finish. I'll get better confirmation on those ASAP.

Really not my field, so any ideas as to its origins?

Thanks in advance.

First guess Webb - but someone will come along and improve on that.

Oops, forgot about this thread. Sorry, Ivo.

I looked into Webb at the time, but couldn't find anything along these lines.

I did get around to handling the vase - cranberry cased in clear with an iridescent finish. Moulded base. Quality was good, but nothing spectacular.
