Title: Is this a Harrachov vase, Milan Metalak?
Post by: Littleblackhen on March 19, 2009, 10:27:53 AM
I bought this lovely vase this week as Harrachov designed by Milan Metelak.  I am sure it is, but I have been unable to find an image of one exactly like it, they all seem to be slightly different in colour and shape.  It is 9 3/4 inches tall.

Can anyone confirm it for me please?

Can we have a picture against a plain white background please so we can see the design properly.

Ok, I had a quick run around to my dads and to his photo table set up :)

Yes, it is Metelak for Harrachov. The heavy colourless base, size and positioning of the bubbles, and the colour give it away.

Thank you, it is great to have that firmly established :)

Is there anywhere I could get an idea of the value of this vase?  I haven't seen any for sale anywhere.

Thanks

Janet

Not sure what you paid for it, but it's a keeper, Janet. I'd hang on to it and see what the next couple of years bring. Alternatively (rummages around in pocket), I could offer you a fine crisp tenner for it

I paid £45 which I think may be near the top of the market now, so perhaps I should hold on to it for a while and hope it goes up.  It is really lovely.

By the way, I saw you on Antiques Roadshow earlier today :)  The green vase you were holding up was one that I turned down last week in pink because it was too expensive at £55 - doh!
