I would like some help identifying this red millefiori paperweight. It measures 3 inches across, no marks. Scattered canes. Thanks!

Would it be possible to supply a sharper picture and also a photo of the base? I have some ideas but I need to see a clearer picture of the canes and the base

My digital isn't that good with closeups. Here are two more photos. Thanks.

Is the base highly polished or matte?
It looks matte to me, that combined with the somewhat irregular shape of the base, the thickness of the white layer and the red overlay and some of the canes makes me think Chinese. I cannot be 100% positive without a closer look at the canes.
I often use my camera phone for quick pics of my paperweights. It doesn't do close-ups so I stick a little magnifying glass in front of it. A rather crude technique but it does give nice sharp cane pics.

Good trick with magnifying glass! Attached two more photos. Matte finish. It probably is Chinese with the amount of stuff they are producing. Thanks!

Yup, It's Chinese. That pattern in the red ground is nifty. The ground is also a better red than I usually see in Chinese glass.
Though I mainly collect Scottish and Italian paperweights I have a pretty big collection of Chinese stuff: They're always coming up with something new and different that keeps me on my toes.

Thanks for help!

I have split out posts from the end of this thread. These were additions by new member "millefiori canes" relating to weights offered on eBay. The posts are now shown as a new thread in the Market Place forum, titled "Millefiori Paperweights":

I have also left a redirection thread at:

where I have added a welcome to "millefiori canes" and reason for the split and move.
I hope this has not confused too many readers.
