Hi,
I have a nice glass paperweight that I'd like some more information about.
This forum seemed to be the right place to pick brains.
So thanks in advance for all the info.
Place of manufacture, age, technique etc is all important information for me, if you have a clue concerning the value that would be nice too.
The weight is 6 cm across and little over 2 cm tall. It is rounded on top and has a flat bottom. Supposedly it has a red "paint" applied and the motive with a deer lying in the woods under a tree was carved into the base.
The condition is well used, with signs of wear under the base at the rim and some scratches on the domed top, nothing grave I think and no chips or cracks.

Typican Bohemian scene in the Egermann technique. These come in both amber and in ruby, the latter being copper flashed and decorated with a copper wheel engraving. They first appear in the middle of the 19th century but have been produced until very recently - I believe the height of popularity was in the last quarter of the 19th century. Valuewise, these have never been really expensive. Also the condition does not seem to be top - so don't get your hopes up.
