I don't think I've asked about this before (apologies if I have - I can't find it anywhere on the board)... does anyone have any thoughts on who may have made this footed bowl please?
It's quite sizeable, height: 140mm, top diameter: 208mm, and very heavy. Has a polished pontil mark on the base.... could it be Stuart perhaps? I've been all over it with a magnifier and no maker's mark anywhere. :(
(The horizontal streaks are just light reflections from the flash for some reason - the bowl itself if just a beautiful clear green.)

Hi Anne if it has several horizontal rings in the bottom of the bowl it is definitely Stuart but there is a similar W/Fs one without rings .
-
Hi JP, yes it has 4 or 5 rings (depending how you count them!) at the bottom of the bowl. So Stuart then, thank you. :-*

Yes, I have the same in turquoise and a 15cm diameter one in green. Both unmarked, but can only be from the Stuart Stratford suite.
I was told that Stuart *always* signed their pieces, but I have at least 20 Stratford pieces and less than 1/4 of them are marked.

Thanks Chris, that's good to know. I was hunching on Stuart with the similarity to other pieces I'd seen. Most of my Stuart is marked but not all for sure and this one certainly isn't.
