Title: who could the designer of this Murrine vase be?

I found this beautiful Murrine vase on the fleamarket the other day. It is signed (acid-etching) on the base with a name I can't decipher "Fermutello" is as close I can get. The end of the name "..mutello" is the part most clearly readable. I would guess it must be a more recent artist because there is hardly any wear of the base. I'd like to know how old it is, though.

Could that read Fratelli Toso, by any chance?

thanks for the try. But no luck, the last letters are very clearly nothing to do with Toso.
lets see what others come up with.

Please upload a close-up photograph of the signature.  Without that, it's unlikely anyone will be able to help.  :)

It is probably Formentello. Very nice millefiori piece!

Formentello looks realy very good. Do you have any further info about this designer, such as studio, dates of activity, references?

I don't know much about Formentello. I googled "Formentello Murano" and got a few links and learned a little about the Formentello family. I would write it all, but I know you can get the same information. I was delighted to learn that the family is so important. One of the companies was Formia, a company that makes some great birds! The family is apparently considered very well in Murano. There is a bit about Angelo Formentello. I'll have to read a lot more about this family. I'm afraid I don't know enough about contemporary Murano companies.
