Title: Heavy Blue Green Sklo hot blown vases - ID = Skrdlovice, František Špinar
Post by: Andy on April 12, 2009, 06:16:04 PM
On my way to lunch at sisters, saw a sign for antiques fare, i thought id have a quick 10 mins, and saw
this pair of Bohemian Vases as soon as i walked in  :D ( I was only a bit late for lunch  >:D  )

I was sure i recognised them as Beranek/Skrdlovice, now im home and checked books, cant quite find them,
i think these Beranek,Skrdlovice, Ladislav Paleček 1977 vases are the ones i was thinking of, but theyre not right,
http://www.beranekglass.com/katalog_pdf_detail.aspx?obr=catalogue_3
im thinking mine may be a little earlier.
1.7kg 9 inches 23cm tall, the blue and green is sort of folded over the body.
Both with labels with the Glassexport logo used 1950s-70s ( Ref Hi Sklo Lo Sklo , Mark Hill)
Quite pleased

Any ideas??
Andy

ps. got to wash them now without losing labels  :P

Yoz are absolutely true Andy,
this piece is orginial Skrdlovice piece from 1977, designed by Palecek. A lot of Skrdlovice designes were produced in several variations. I will try to get the real pattern number of your pieces next week.

The label is typical Glassexport label used for export of glass from all Czechoslovak factories. Note please "Sklo" means in Czech "glass" it is not name of factory. The best information about "Sklo Union" and complete explanation you can find in Marcus Newhall s book www.sklounion.com. I understand that term "Sklo" is now widely used in glass friends comunity for designation of Czechoslovak pressed glass production.

Hi Andy,
I have found it, not designed by Paleček but his gollegue from Skrdlovice glassmaster František Špinar 1965, pattern 6520.
