I'm probably posting this in the wrong place - apologies, but I couldn't see the 'transfer/slumped' location.
these are a recent acquisition - and although I have seen many of the more common transfer printed pieces, don't recall having seen these in any of the charity shop or boot sale places I have been to in recent years. Colourful and attractive - although not sure what the original purpose was - possibly for 'nibbles' at a party. Cud possibly have been six in the original set maybe. Wud appreciate a maker and possible date if anyone knows. thanks for looking Paul S.

Very lucky you. A rare set of Chance glass dishes produced in 1965 and not often seen. My friend David Encill couldn't find any of these to feature in his book on Chance and indeed thought there were only four, but as you have five it's more than probable there were six. I'm sure he would love photos for his forthcoming update. I'll point him at this thread.

my sincere thanks for the very helpful replies, I had thought they might have been Chance. you have given my evening quite a 'lift'. I hadn't bothered to wash them, which they do need, but they are available for additional pics. to anyone who wud have a genuine reason to want them. Thanks again, and just to make one or two of you go a little green, they cost me £1. at yesterday's boot sale.!! Paul S.

Thanks Christine. Yes, I can confirm they are Chance and I do actually have two of the designs now. I was only aware of four in the original series, but had no other information apart from a mention in a trade magazine.
They were made in 1965, and probably had a very short production run - possibly no more than a year - so it is unusual to see five in one go. The two I already have are:
Prof. Charle’s Balloon 1783 ... (the one you do not have)
Vincent Lunardi’s Balloon 1785 ... (the one in the middle of your photo)
If I could trouble you for a close-up photo of the other four 'trays' (the correct Chance's name for them), this would help in getting the proper names noted and, with your permission, to use them for the next publication. Probably best to take the photos in daylight - if you have the 'tulip' icon on your camera, this will help with close-ups.

you may of course use the pics David - my pleasure to give permission for whatever publication purposes you intend. I will give them a light clean, and hopefully post the pics. at some time tomorrow eveing. think I now ought to buy a copy of the book, since I seem to be acquiring a growing collection of pieces. I will also use your suggestion of photo method. Paul S.
